Statement of Need

Oregon’s Bay Area is in transition from an economy based on extractive natural resources to an uncertain future. There are 186 active local non-profits which provide vital services to our community. The ability to provide these services effectively requires increasing the connectivity and capacity of these groups which have common needs, resources, and capabilities. Working together, we can serve more efficiently and increase the assets and sustainability of local organizations. To paraphrase the words of the late Wallace Stegner, we desire to create a community to match our scenery.
