ORCO Arts offers holistic, experiential, hands-on learning emphasizing visual and performing arts to promote self-esteem and confidence and develop well-rounded, thoughtful citizens invested in stewardship and sustainability.
The goals of our organization are:
- to support education within our community for youth from all ethnic and economic backgrounds.
- to encourage local young people by providing opportunities for artistic expression and to support their interests by connecting them to real life experiences.
- to encourage positive relationships between youth, teachers, parents, and the community through projects, volunteerism, and art internships enabling young people to achieve their highest potential through engagement in the arts and community service.
- to provide a youth-centered learning environment based on respect which offers personalized, self-driven projects that stimulate responsibility.
- to become a hub of culture and the arts in the Coos Bay Area, giving our youth opportunity to produce cultural events which give scope to individual creative expression and to a synergistic relationship between young people and our community.
