Friends of the Coos Bay Library, The

The Friends of the Coos Bay Public Library is a very active organization that was formed in 1976. The Friends’ Statement of Purpose is: To create an awareness of the library and itss functions, promote knowledge of its needs, develop public support for increased library service and foster a public relations program. The Friends group sponsors all of the library’s youth programs throughout the year, they support most library programs for adults, supplements the library budget with purchase of books and equipment, and provides broad support to the library and its activities. The Friends group holds nine used book sales during the year and operates a used bookstore as their major fundraising effort for the library.
